2024-2025 School Year Changes

Subject: Exciting Changes Coming to TUSD Foodservice in the 24/25 SY

Tombstone Unified School District is excited to announce two brand new partnerships within our foodservice department. These partnerships will help to better serve our students as well as assist our parents with ease of menu access, meal payments, lunch account tracking and will increase the variety of foods being served to our students.

Our first brand new partnership is with our foodservice management company, Southwest Foodservice Excellence, SFE. They are a leader in foodservice management and will be taking the lead in our cafeterias on a day-to-day basis. They will not only provide a friendly and helpful staff but will also provide nutritious healthy meals with a variety of choices. We are excited to see the changes they will be bringing to our foodservice program.

We are also excited to announce that we will be launching a new, easy-to-use portal that is being facilitated by Linq Technologies. Linq Technologies is a leading provider of all-in-one nutrition solutions in the United States. Their software will put all of our nutrition needs in one convenient place. Everything from meal pplications, to online meal payments, and menus, will be located in the new portal, Linq Connect.

As a result, we will no longer be using MySchool Bucks to process Meal Payments. MySchoolBucks will remain in place for some other exciting changes coming to TUSD in the coming school year.

We are asking that you refrain from making lunch account deposits using MySchoolBucks, as well as from completing online meal applications until Linq Connect is set-up and ready to go. We are hoping to have it set-up and ready for use by July 15, 2024. If you have remaining lunch account balances in myschoolbucks, there is not need to worry, all of the current balances that are held in MySchoolBucks will be transferred to the new system as soon as it ready. Please stay tuned to the nutrition page of our website: Food Services - Tombstone Unified School District #1 ( for more information as it becomes available. We will be posting regular updates in regards to these exciting changes.

We do thank you for your patience during this time of transition and exciting changes coming to TUSD. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me.

Join Us for a Healthy Lunch

Students may bring their lunch or eat a hot lunch in the cafeteria. We also welcome visitors to join us during our lunch hour. Parents may place an order for a hot lunch by calling the cafeteria office at each school early in the morning of the planned visit. Please drop off lunches or lunch money in your child's school office.

All school lunches include a half pint of 1% white, 1% chocolate, or fat free milk. If your child is allergic to milk products, we’re happy to substitute an alternative milk product in its place. Please contact the school office if this exception pertains to your child.

If your child forgets his or her lunch or lunch money, Tombstone Unified School District will provide a sandwich and milk. We will extend this courtesy up to three times during the school year.
